LICENSING
- Our Florida Private Investigation Agency license number is A-9400322. This number informs you that we were licensed in 1994 as a Private Investigation Agency. Florida law requires all investigation agencies to include this number in any publication or advertisement. When choosing your Private Investigator/Detective, you can refer to this number to determine how many years they have been operating. You can also contact the Florida Department Of State, Division Of Licensing, at 184 Eglin Parkway N.E., Suite 2 Fort Walton Beach, Fl. 32548 or call 850-833-9146 and refer to this number to inquire about a firm or about an individual investigator. Remember, you cannot legally hire a Private Investigator who does not work for an agency with a letter "A" affixed to their license. All Private Detectives/Investigators who have a "C" or "CC" affixed to their license, must be hired through an Agency and cannot work alone under their individual license. All Agents now must work for two years under a "CC" license before acquiring his "C" license, and no "CC" license holder may be allowed to work further than 50 miles away from his Agency's office.
INSURANCE
- The State of Florida requires all Private Investigation Agencies to have insurance coverage as a combined single limit policy in an amount not less than $300,000 which policy must include comprehensive general liability coverage for death, bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury coverage including false arrest, detention or imprisonment, malicious prosecution, libel, slander, defamation of character, and violation of the right of privacy. Insurance must include coverage for the activities of all licensed persons under the operational direction and control of the licensed agency. Information Specialists, Inc. meets this criteria. All agencies must have on file their insurance requirements with the Florida Department of State.
